Choose an important (figurative) character from either a game or a feature film/animation. Analyse the character's nonverbal communications. Begin by describing:
Stance and posture
Kinesthetics (how they move and typical movement patterns)
Gestures
Facial expressions
Tone, volume, accent and other non-linguistic voice elements.
Proxemics (Do they get close to other characters or keep their distance? Do they touch or allow themselves to be touched? Where?)
Clothing (style, colour, etc)
Their 'home' (if appropriate)
Write at least a paragraph analysing what the above information tells us about the character. Include at least 2 'typical' pictures of your chosen character.
Very thorough analysis -- great that you have not just analysed but also picked up on the need to provide a character that a wide cross-section relates to. Also insightful comments re; building a 'legend'
You've really looked hard at this short animation -- and I love your enthusiasm for it. It would have been good to look more at how the girl's appearance and physical actions give the audience a sense of her character (eg she's meant to be 'real' and sincere as compared to the 2 buskers which you can tell by her humble everyday clothes whilst they dress in bright attention grabbing clothes -- but actually she turns out to be a bit of a monster, taking her revenge on them in a rather petty way by fooling them into thinking she's going to give them money...), but you've picked up on a lot of the non-verbal cues that help us read the animation.
Great character descriptions Kim -- it would have been interesting to explore the SC's relationship to other TV chefs a little more since it is those, rather than 'actual' chefs that his character references...
Although you're a little light on analysis, this is a good description of one of the few characters that actually has 'character' in the Halo series. Do you think that Master Chief is meant to be a friend, an authority figure or a typical 'Sarge'?
