Online exhibitions are as varied, if not more so, as physical exhibitions. Find a 'good' online exhibition; post a short description, a brief explanation of what you think is worthwhile about it and a link to it.
Yup not exactly an exhibition (in that there is no coherent over-arching theme that is being explored) -- but certainly a great design -- and entertainment -- resource
The Net Art Programme forms part of the Tate Gallery online. The current exhibition is entitled Watercouleur Park. A new net art commission by French artists group Qubo Gasis It is an interactive, graphic composition made of layers of drawings. The site has links to the artists website, biography, and essays about the work.
Previous commissions by Net Art include work by Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries and Andy Deck.
I came across this site when I was researching about mythical creatures & beings. Lombergar is a digital artist who I find quite interesting, because he works with the unlimited possibilities of the computer, yet still utilizes the traditional mediums of paper, pencils, paints and canvas. His approach to fantasy art is unrestrained, earning him the reputation of being "above and beyond" the classic fantasy artists at this period in time.
It's definitely worth looking at if you like Surreal & Fantasy Art. By the way, he's very popular in DA too (apparently).
Above is the link to the online gallery of Jason Chan, a San Francisco based artist, who has taken manga into the realm of fine arts. Worth visiting is 'The Junk Drawer', a collection of his earlier works, which show a true progression to where he is today.
This gallery has a range of anime style to western to a fuse between the 2 styles. It's art for the korean Multi-player game : Lineage 2, and I think this would be good for anyone interested in the mixture of western and eastern Art.
This is a website is Gabriele Dell'Otto online art gallery. He is an Italian artist who started out as a scientific illustrator in Rome. A few years later he became a comic artist and started to collaborate with the European division of Marvel (yes...marvel comics). Since then he has been producing artwork mainly for comic books, lithographies and books.
His paintings are usually done by hand then touch up with photoshop. The style of his works are usually very dark, in terms of the mood. Even with his lastest work 'Tales', are illustrations of dark moments of the traditional tales.
The website is absolutely brillant. The homepage is an outline of a city, if you go further into the site, there are galleries of his work displaying in virtual rooms. There will be hints and clues to guide users through the website to ensure that the site can be easily operate.
William Morris is a Designer, Writer and Craftsman born on 24th March 1834. He done many beautiful arts such as Arts and Crafts Designs, stained glass designs, hand painted tiles and many more. One of his works I really like is his tapestries "The Woodpecker" which u can see at http://www1.walthamforest.gov.uk/wmg/selecta.htm. As you can see, I like the coloring and the composition of his work, the design of The Woodpecker, for me, is one of the best art I ever seen so far.
I like the William Morris' online exhibition because of the design is very simple and nice. No unnecessary additional designs in here and the colors combination such as the background color and font colors are really match. The menu of the exhibition is clear and user-friendly. If you click one of his exhibits in the menu, you will see all the pictures arranged nicely and neat. It also enables you to zoom the image by clicking the original image. The descriptions of each image are clear and easy to read. I feel comfortable to enjoy this online exhibition.
The online exhibition I've chosen is called The "Digital Show", which is basically an online exhibition of International Digital Art. Currently 'Digital Shows' exhibition coincides with Futuresonic 2007 which is held in Manchester - The current digital show showcases 100 digital images and is shown under the title of "Psychedelia". (http://www.digitalshow.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=3)
The website is easy to navigate with frequent news about upcoming events/exhibitions and competitions. The digital artworks are presented in thumbnail form with the ability of the user to click on a particular artwork to find out more about the artist (homepage, software used) as well as knowing how the artist went about creating the artwork.
